Q.When playing in the tournament do I have an opponent?

A.  Your opponent is the Ghost who never misses.  If you foul (other than the break), miss or run out your game is over.

Q.  Who keeps score?

A.  You will score your match using the SkorBord.  The Skorbord will launch after you register for a tournament match.  Access to the SkorBord can be done through your cell phone, laptop or any device that can access the website.

       A.  You can play 1, 2 or 3 players using the same live stream.  First player will register then you can add players to the tournament.

Q.  If we have more than one player which Ustream Channel do we use?

A.You will all use the same Ustream channel as the first person that registers.  The Skorbord will know.

Q.  What is done if two or more players tie?

A.  Handicapped divisions are calculated out to one-one hundredth of a point.  Ties don’t happen

very often, but if they do ties are broke by your statistics in this order:

  2. Consecutive Cut Option Executed (COE)
  3. Consecutive Cut games

A.  The information from your player profile is used for a several things and here are a few.

1.  To order your Mastercard Reloadable Membership card so you can get paid.  We will NOT share this information any third party.

2.  Once you win money for the first time, you will receive notification that we need your SS# to

order you reloadable Mastercard membership card.  These cards are issued in the player’s name from the bank.

3.We will use it to determine what kind of players are participating or to help develop ways to make our tournament more interesting for all players.

Q.  What about different tables and different sized pockets?

A.  Player’s scratch average will be based on their weekly scores from where ever they play.  Their handicap will reflect their skill level from the table(s) they have played on and in the end, it will all even out.  If a player has to play out of a different room than what he/she is used to, learn to adjust.  That is the nature of this sport.

Scratching

Q.  What happens if I make a ball on the break and scratch?

A.  All balls pocketed on the break with a scratch are spotted.  When more than one ball is pocketed you will spot the balls from the lowest numbered ball on the foot spot followed in sequence, frozen to each and in a straight line from the foot spot to the end rail. If there is an interfering ball place the next ball frozen to interfering ball.  You are still entitled to take ball in hand for the RUN turn at the table.  Score for a scratch on the break is minus 1 (-1).

Q.  What happens if I make the Game ball on the break and scratch?

A.  Same as before.  Minus 1 (-1) is your score.  No point awarded for the 10 ball and the 10ball re-spots on the foot spot or as close to it as possible.

Q.  If I make the Game ball on the break and scratch does it get spotted?

A.  After pocketing balls on the break and you scratch, ALL balls that you make on the break are spotted.  If you pocket more than one ball, whether it’s the 10-ball or any other ball, you will spot them on the foot spot starting with the smallest ball at top and progressively larger.

Q.  If I make the Game ball on the break?

A.Making the Game ball on the break is one point and is then re-spotted.  If there is an interfering ball on the foot spot, the player has the option to spot the Game ball on the Head Spot.  If there is an interfering ball on the head spot then the player has the option to spot the Game ball in the middle of the table.

Q. If a player pockets a ball during his/her RUN turn at the table and scratches, do they get a point?

A.  On the RUN turn, there is no point awarded for pocketing that ball and No penalty for the
scratch. Game over.  When you pocket a ball and scratch, score that ball as a ball made in the SkorBord.  You will then be asked if pocketed a ball on the scratch and the SkorBord will calculate it correctly.

Q.  Let’s say I have a cut game and I scratch on the break of next game?

A.  As always a scratch on the break is minus a point.  For a cut game, you add the break score from your next game back to the Cut game even if you scratch.  This means you will minus a point from your current game and you will get a point reduction on your Cut game.

Q.  What happens if I have a snap game and scratch on the break on the next game?

A.  Snap games you add the total points of your next game to your Snap game.  The scratch point will be included in the total of your next game so you don’t need to worry about doing anything different.

Q.  Do you minus one point if you scratch on the break only?

A.  Yes.  Scratching on the break is the only time that there will be a point deduction.

Q.  If you scratch on your second turn is it minus 1 (-1)?

A.  No point deduction for scratching on your RUN.

Q.  If I scratch on my ball-in-hand turn at the table and pocket a ball at the same time then there is a point awarded for the ball pocketed and a point for the scratch is deducted?

A.  No. No point deduction and no point is awarded.  It is marked as a Miss statistic and game over.

Scoring

Q.  How many points is each ball worth?

A.  For most games each ball you legally pocket is one (1) point. However, in a few of the games the values can vary.

Q.  What is a CUT game?

A.  A CUT game is when you DO NOT pocket a ball on the break and you run out.

Q.  What is a Snap game?

A. A SNAP game is when you pocket a ball on the break and run out.

Q.  What is a Cut Option Executed (COE) game?

A.  In the game following a CUT game you do not take ball in hand.

Q.  How is a CUT game scored?

A.  Total balls possible to score for the game you are playing points for your break & run (If you scratched on the break minus one point) and then you will add what you made on the break back to your CUT game.

Q.  Why would I not take ball in hand after the break?

A. There is only one situation where this applies and it’s the game after a CUT game.If you do not take ball in hand after the break in the game following the CUT game all the points earned in that game will also be added to your CUT game.

Q.  How is a Snap game scored?

A.  You earn total points (according to the game rules your playing) for that game plus your total points from your next game.

Q.  How are two Snap games in a row scored?

A.  For the first game you break make a ball on the break and run out you will earn total number of game points for the game you are playing.  Then you will add total number of game points for the second break and run (unless you scratch on the break) back to your first break and run score for a total of points in your first game.

Q.  How do the tournaments work?

A.Players will be playing from their local pool room, bar, tavern, any public place with a pool table or their home.  A new event starts Sunday night at midnight, runs all week long to Sunday night at midnight.  Players will pay and register for the tournament through their cell phone, laptop or a device of their choice and score their match.  Players will live stream their match to their free Ustream.tv channel.  When done, save both devices and the player’s results will got to the website.

Q.  I’m not that good of a player.  Do I have a chance to win any money.

A. Yes.  You will be playing with players with similar skill sets in a division and you will be playing

with the most accurate handicapping system in the industry.  We will have events from time to time when we will combine divisions.  No worries though.  The handicapping system will take care of everything.

Q.  How do I qualify to play in the tournaments?

A.You must be a BTR member.

Q  What happens to the entry fees that are paid if I lose my live stream?

A. Do not touch or move anything on the table until you can get your live stream back up and running.  If you move the balls we cannot help you.Unfortunately, we cannot give refunds regardless of the circumstances.  We highlyrecommend that you choose a location that has adequate internet reception..

Q  How many matches can I play each week?

A. A player may play as many matches asthey would like.  Players may play in the same tournament, same game or in a different game and division.

Q  When an early 10Game ball is pocketed is it always spotted before my next shot?

A.  Yes.

Q.  What happens if I make the Game on the break? Where does it spot?

A. Game ball on the head spot.  If the head spot is also taken then you spot the Game ball in the

center of the table.  If all three spots are taken then you spot the Game ball behind the foot spot

behind the ball(s) occupying the foot spot.  This only applies to a legal break.  If you scratch on

the break read the scratching on the break rules.

Q.  What happens if I if I move a ball when spotting the Game ball?

A.  Since we’re playing all ball foul rules, moving another ball whether you’re shooting or just spotting balls is a foul and is end of game. If you are spotting a ball and you nudge a ball that is not a foul, however if you’re spotting a ball next to two balls that are less then ¼ of an inch together, then this is considered a foul. And it’s game over at this point.

Q.  How do you mark a 10ball on the break?

A.  10BB in the “Break section” of the score SkorBord.

Q  What happens if I forget to re-spot my balls if I scratch or my Game balls pocketed?

A.  It is a foul and conclusion of turn which would be game over.

Handicapping

Q.  Otherplayer’s have their handicap and I don’t have mine yet.  Can I earn my handicap sooner?

A.Yes.  The way to earn your handicap is to play matches.  You can play as many matches as you want to in a week.  You must score 6 matches before earning your handicap. Until you have 6 matches you will be playing in the handicap/scratch division while earning your handicap.

Q. When can I play with my handicap?

A.The week following the week you played 6 matches.

Q.  Do all players get a handicap?

A.  All players will earn a handicap.  Pro division will have a handicap calculated, but they will not compete with their handicap unless it’s a tournament when they compete with a handicapped division(s).

Q.  Will I ever be able to win using my handicap?

A.  Yes.  The winner of any tournament, match or competition in any sport has to play their best or bring their “A” game to win.  There is nothing different with the BTR Tour.  With the 90% handicapping system the scoring will be evened out and it will come down to “which player brought their “A” game” for their skill level that week.  Example of scores and handicaps.
